The Los Adaes Foundation is dedicated to preserving the history, culture, and heritage of the Los Adaes region, Robeline, and Natchitoches Parish. Explore our historical collections, research, and community initiatives that help protect this incredible legacy.

In 1972, the Los Adaes Foundation of Robeline, Inc. was established with the mission of preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of the Los Adaes region.

El Camino Real de los Tejas—known as the “Royal Road of the Tejas Indians”—was a vital travel corridor linking Mexico City to the Spanish outpost of Los Adaes near present-day Robeline, Louisiana.

The Old Methodist Church, located on Texas Street (Louisiana Highway 6), is one of the community’s most treasured historic landmarks.

The Man in the Moon is an American coming-of-age drama, Reese Witherspoon’s film debut, and director Robert Mulligan’s final film.

Robeline’s identity is uniquely connected to its origins as the site of Los Adaes, the first capital of the Spanish province of Texas.

Today, the Los Adaes Foundation continues its long-standing commitment to preserving the heritage, culture, and history of the Los Adaes region.
